swallowing stones is an improvised solo that formed while researching and creating my thesis project at Hampshire College. This improvised solo became a vehicle for me to ask questions of representation and legibility in real time. As I moved, I invited in myth, stereotype, and associations while I simultaneously attempted to escape being named or pinned down. I asked, Is it really possible for the body to be abstract?
